It’s that time of year when everyone starts new exercise programs, tries different things, and makes resolutions to be healthier than the previous year. The thing I have learned about being fit and healthy is: find an exercise program you love so that you actually stick to it. For some it may be running, for others it’s weights in the gym and for others it’s yoga or Pilates. Personally I like to switch it up so that my body doesn’t fall into a rut. Sometimes I’m addicted to Moksha Yoga, other times it’s gym workouts and right now I’m on a Studio Lagree kick.
To make it easier for everyone to find the workout ideal for them, we are starting a new column called Fitness Fridays and will be giving you the scoop on the latest and greatest exercise programs, how they work and if they bring results. For the first Friday of 2014, I am re-publishing our introduction to Studio Lagree. This exercise program using a sooped up reformer machine is like Pilates on crack – and I discovered it just in time. Given that I was spending New Years in Mexico, I was on a mission to lose that extra belly fat for the last two months. Mission accomplished. Best part? And it’s rare that I say this: I cannot wait to get back to it and see what can happen to my body after two months of following this program!
Take a look at Studio Lagree on King Street and our interview with the program’s creator. If you haven’t tried it, give it a go – it’s hard and you will sweat but when you start seeing your body change, you will get addicted!
