Free food is totally better than paying for food. That’s why we can’t wait to pop by the newly-opened Ossington Stop snack bar this Thursday, July 17th from noon until 5pm. Why? Free food, obviously. (If you didn’t get that from the title then we wonder, How did you not electrocute yourself this morning?) To thank the neighbourhood for all its done, owner William Tavares (of Fishbar fame) wants to give back, literally.
From noon until 5pm this Thursday, you can pop by the newly-opened snack bar to try 1 of 3 dishes off the uber-cheap and eclectic menu: Steamed Bun w/ pork, cabbage, and carrot salad; Chicken n’ Waffles w/ roasted chicken, a Southern savory waffle, and honey garlic sauce; or Baked BBQ Side Ribs w/ a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce and the “deep goodness” slaw. Paired with a $4 beer or $5 glass of vino, that’s probably the cheapest lunch deal you’ll find this side of China’s back-alley markets.

Ossington Stop, which opened about two weeks ago, is a hot new spot for anyone looking to eat great even late (they’re open til 4am Thursdays through Saturdays) and who doesn’t want to break the bank ($7 doubles of bar rail, folks!). Located near Dundas and Ossington (at 1164 Dundas West) this is the frugal foodies’ answer to “Where am I going to eat next?”, followed by, of course, “Where am I going to eat again?”
So stop on in on Thursday, July 17th from noon until 5pm to taste the flavours of this new dining destination, and get ready to welcome Ossington Stop to the ‘hood.
