If you’re a macaron lover (and really… who isn’t?), you’ll most definitely want to celebrate Macaron Day TO this year! On Thursday, March 20th you’ll be able to treat yourself to France’s most beloved dessert. The thought of moist meringue cookie shells held together by a heavenly, smooth and delicious ganache filling has us drooling. So mark your calendars because on this day only, some of Toronto’s finest patisseries will be giving patrons free macarons in support of the Red Door Family Shelter.
Participating patisseries include: Petit Thuet, Bobbette and Belle, J’Adore Cakes Co., Patisserie 27, Butter Avenue, Yorkville Espresso Bar, MoRoCo Chocolat and La Bamboche (just to name a handful). To get your sweet Parisian treat, all you have to do is walk into any one of these participating patisseries and mention that you’re celebrating Macaron Day TO this year, et voila! Quantities of macarons will be limited by location so be sure you go early to indulge in this delicious guilty pleasure! However, if stores run out of free goodies and you’re still craving the irresistible dessert, 25% of all additional macaron purchases will be donated to the Red Door Family Shelter.
Another tremendous effort will come from Nadege, who is also participating in the annual tradition for the fourth year in a row, donating 50% of Macaron sales to SickKids and will be featuring 25 macaron flavours, doubling their normal stock.
Who said you had to go all the way to France for the best macarons? On March 20th, get out to one of these patisseries and get your macaron on – it’s for a great cause!
