“We got a great big convoy, ain’t that a beautiful sight?” may be the lyrics to the most famous convoy song, but it isn’t necessarily the shared attitude in Ontario right now. The Freedom Rally 2022 has been making its way from British Columbia to Ontario this week in protest of COVID-19 vaccine mandates. The group has raised over $5M in support so far and have over 50 000 truckers signed up! Yesterday they were spotted in Ontario for the first time.

Freedom Rally Enters Ontario
Yesterday, at almost -30 degrees Celsius, people lined the streets in Kenora to catch a glimpse of the Freedom Rally on their first stop in Ontario. En route to Ottawa, the truckers are scheduled to arrive on Saturday to protest vaccine mandates in the country’s capital. There are raising concerns that the protest will become violent but the organizer insists this is a peaceful protest.
“This movement should have no tolerance for hatred,” the Freedom Convoy 2022 posted on Instagram. “There should be no tolerance for violence. Seeing so many Canadians from across the country uniting and cheering each other on is something beyond special.”
A key player behind the convoy travelling to Ottawa to protest a vaccine mandate for truckers is distancing her movement from the increasingly extremist rhetoric online being associated with the protest. https://t.co/EWHuYfiVCx
