Back for its second year, the Gentlemen’s Expo will be descending upon the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for a weekend of male-centred mania. If 2013 was any indication of what to expect, there’ll be man-sized portions of gadgets, toys, cars, menswear, and booze. Beyond that, there were guest appearances by notables like Jon Jones of UFC fame, Montreal celebrity chef Chuck Hughes, and at least two dragons from Dragons’ Den on hand to give their tips on keepin’ it real. Is there anything more a refined gentleman could want?
Well, apparently there is. Gentlemen’s Expo 2014 promises to be better AND bigger than last year edition. Cause, really, we all know size matters. We recommend starting first with the wine, cocktail, and beer sampling stations because everything is better with a buzz. Can I get a Hell Ya, gentlemen? After you’ve drank borderline responsibly, the top spots to check out in the over 100,000 square feet of exhibits include a cooking stage, a rock wall, a variety of clothing stops, and the Gentleman’s Casino. There’s nothing quite like engaging in vertigo, spending money, and gambling after a few drinks — history dictates that will turn out well.
Wandering through the Gentlemen’s Expo without a lady on your arm? Up your love swagger with Dr. Jess’ sexologist talk and Eligible Magazine’s Dating Game, both on Friday. Get your beef and beefcake going on Saturday with a cooking lesson from Toronto meat-master, Chef Rob Rainford, and a meet-and-greet with UFC star, Montreal’s George St-Pierre. On Sunday, be sure to up your networking and entrepreneurship games with expert panels. Your boss will be super impressed on Monday, barring you being a little hungover. #nojudgement
Some of the more funky highlights of this year’s Gentlemen’s Expo include KPMG’s Start Me Up Pavilion, which lets you play it like you’re Kevin O’Leary on Dragons’ Den (read: except less douchey) by voting on your fave manly entrepreneur ventures. Check out our full recap here. Not really feeling a full face of hair for Movember? Dove Men Care understands that beards aren’t for everybody. They’ll have a razor shave bar set up. Honestly, when was the last time anybody had one of those? Another thing we’re pumped for is Canadian Tire’s Ultimate Garage Prize, which will help you turn your worn out shed into the mancave of your dreams. Um… Can I get a Hell Ya, gentlemen?
