It’s been a highly anticipated opening for anyone who doesn’t enjoy super loud music, 20-year-olds running around, and drunken debauchery. Well… a re-opening of sorts, really. Marc Kyriacou, the original owner of WEST (a happening bar that held residence over a decade ago yet was defunct until recently), partnered with Glen Baxter and friends to re-open the discerning space this May 22nd. Re-designed and re-imagined, the new WEST is targeted to an older demographic that enjoys good music in a refined atmosphere. With a strict policy that only welcomes women over 25 and men over 30, the group hopes the new WEST will encourage and act as a catalyst towards the sophisticated transformation of King West.
We got a sneak peak of the space and spoke to some of the partners involved in the new WEST…
WEST will be serving a light tapas menu and will also soon open a patio. Hours of operation will be Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5pm to 2am, and Saturdays from 9pm to 2am.
