With Toronto Fashion Week in full swing, we stopped by the tents at David Pecaut Square to chat backstage with Essie’s lead nail artist, Rita Remark on Day 1 of WMCFW. For the first time in years, all of the model’s manicures were done on-site at the shows, so you can imagine how insane the moments before the models walked down the runway were!
This year models on the runway were rocking some serious nail art, courtesy of the talented Rita, who created the nail art designs for an incredible roster of Canadian designers including Mikhael Kale, David Dixon, Pink Tartan, Mackage and more.
You heard it first here; the biggest nail trend to hit this season will be simple nail designs that bring high impact. We’re talking about ‘negative space’ designs as seen at the Mikhael Kale show and subtle-yet-strong ombre affects like the ones showcased at the Line Knitwear show.
Hear about all the 2014 nail art trends in Nicki’s interview with Rita below…
