What happens when a new snack bar invites the city in for a free lunch? Anarchy, albeit a controlled one.
That was the scene last week when Ossington Stop, the hottest new snack bar in the Dundas/Ossington ‘hood, offered up three tastes of their soon-to-be foodie favourite menu. Hungry passersby lined up – some for up to an hour – waiting to get a taste of Ossington Stop’s bounty.
Patrons vanished their vittles voraciously, massacring everything from the Steamed Bun to the Chicken n’ Waffles to Ossington Stop’s sticky Baked BBQ Side Ribs. The demand was so high the new restaurant went into a frenzy re-prepping more and more portions to keep the chomping mouths at bay.

A successful entry onto Toronto’s restaurant scene, Ossington Stop is poised to become the new “it” joint for cheap and cheerful eats – until 4am Thursdays to Saturdays, no less.
