While these are trying times for sure, it is also important to remember to think about the planet that we all call home. 22nd April is officially recognized as Earth Day. But as we all know, it is a daily effort to protect and preserve Earth. We’ve rounded up some of the ongoing initiatives for Earth Day 2021.
Giorgio Armani Acqua for Life
This initiative focuses on delivering universal access to drinking water in the most vulnerable regions. This year, Acqua for Life started with eight projects, including three new ones in India, Madagascar, and Malawi. Combined, they are set to reach more than 125,000 people. They have also partnered with Water.org and their microcredit initiative WaterCredit®.
For this Earth Day, the brand has partnered with global charity, World Land Trust. For every order placed on their website today, the company will plant a tree to help regenerate forests in Malaysian Borneo.
Want to get on board a sustainable lifestyle? The Canadian-made natural deodorants from No Pong are 100% natural, aluminum-free, and cruelty-free. They also have a new addition this year, Fragrance Free Vegan that is made with Vitamin E and shea butter.
Yorkdale Shopping Centre
Not only are they the first shopping mall to ban single use plastic straws but they have more than 600 solar panels and their own recycling program.
Accor’s Planet 21 Day
The day is part of Accor’s brand-wide sustainability program, Planet 21, which focuses on sustainable hospitality. Accor hotels globally are marking the event, with a number of initiatives that both employees and visitors can participate in.
