Titled “The Orchard”, the experience is all about transporting you to Paris. The French-inspired tea, which can be found at Shangri-La Toronto hotel, is “inspired by Ontario’s abundance of in-season fruits, with a French boutique-pastry twist”.
The menu has been put together by the incredible pastry chef, that we know all too well, chef Calvin Watt, whose worked for the likes of none-other than the world’s best pastry chef… Pierre Gagnaire.
What’s on the menu for The Orchard afternoon tea at the Shangri-La?
The afternoon tea menu comprises of a varied selection of sweet and savoury delicacies. There’s the Air Sandwich Collection, Tomato Croissandwich, Mandarin Foie Gras, Raspberry Entremet and more. A special serving of the Summer Fruit Collection is also available. This refers to hand sculpted Trompe L’Oeil Fruit Desserts, and you can select three for your dining experience at the Shangri-La afternoon tea.

There’s a wide range of premium tea to choose from, including ones like English Breakfast Black Tea, Peppermint, Masala Chai Regional Favourites, The Guan Yin Tea, Green Tea Biluo Tea, and more.

The Shangri-La Lobby Lounge is where you can enjoy The Orchard afternoon tea experience. It’s available every Thursday to Sunday until August 28 2022 and is priced at $98+ tax per person. Reservations can be made via their website.
