There are two new additions to Church Street just in time for World Pride, and they’re a dynamic duo to be reckoned with. The mansion that formerly housed The Vic Public House has now been transformed into House/Maison, two restaurants joined together by a sprawling patio and shared desire to become your next go-to summer spot.
House will be a full-service restaurant with homestyle comfort food like chicken fingers, fish n’ chips, and flank steak. They’ve also got a full selection of lighter summer fare like salads and fish tacos. We’re looking forward to recuperating from one of World Pride’s many events with their classic burger – the tried-and-true combination of high-quality beef, aged cheddar, and bacon is sure to restore anyone’s energy after a wild night of live entertainment and dancing.

Maison will be a more low-key café with a French kick. If you’re craving fresh meats and cheeses stacked atop a crispy baguette, drop by and grab one of their sandwiches to go. Or, opt to stay and bask in the sun while enjoying the sights and sounds of the neighbourhood.
Already prepped to entertain, House/Maison confirmed that they’ll be living up to the party vibe of other restaurants on the block. Le Youth is already scheduled to perform there (June 28th, mark the date!) and the World Pride 2014 Drip Block Party will be going on there as well with lineups including DJs like Girl Unit, Prince Innocence, and Shaydakiss.
