With the craziness that is this week on our minds during the past #Instaweekend, Nicki and I took it pretty easy insofar as our exploits. But, there’s still a li’l fun to be had when bracing one’s self for non-stoppery, right…?

Alright, so I was admittedly quiet on the soc. med. waves this weekend. Friday night was spent with Nicki and Sam over at Pan on the Danforth, and our gabbing got in the way of us actually snapping shots. No matter, you’ll have a vlog to watch later in the week. And my late night outing in the Village Friday night is better left to the “what happens in the Village, stays in the Village” mantra.
Saturday was spent in bed with flicks as Pride is coming up and a boy needs his beauty rest. (Read: I was hungover to high heavens.) Luckily, Sunday provided me with some eventful edibles as Ms. Ash and myself made our way over to #EatUpTO at 99 Sudbury. This event, presented by NOW Magazine, was a bit different than your standard foodie fun as it brought not only eats to the venue but also some interactive elements and talks. Let’s be honest though, I was there to nosh despite the Hades-esque heat, starting with the stupid-good fondue Cheesewerks was sending out…
I then bit into the smoked trout sammie Chef David Friedman of Red Fish was serving up. The supple filling was rich in flavour and had a lovely, almost-mousse like texture. I could’ve (and should’ve) eaten many more of these bad boys…
And of course, I couldn’t not get my hands on some Hot Bunzz. I effing love these things. They’re like those Pillsbury pizza pockets, but actually edible… and amazing. The three-cheese, mushroom stuffed glory that befell my palate was, as Mariah would say, an SGSHW! (Look it up, lazy folk.)
After literally eating up Toronto, the booze-lovin’ gal and I found ourselves over at Foggy Dew for a pitcher and pints, and I, of course, had to order up a Black Velvet to finish the day…

Ms. Nicks was all in a tizzy getting ready for another trip out to Vancouver to meet with the VTV West team. And amidst the craziness that is last-minute packing (including our soon-to-be ex-office space), she had to make way over to a wedding that required her to dress in some traditional garb…
She may not have planned on dressing so exotic when she got the invitation, but we here at the office think her and the man make a pretty dashing couple…
Sunday night saw her at the airport ready to have dinner at one of the new fancy restaurants that opened up within. Unfortunately, she was at the wrong terminal, so a dinner of Swiss Chalet was a quick backup plan. Sorry Nicks, better luck next time!
