Comedy lovers rejoice! Toronto is getting another taste of Montreal’s world-famous Just for Laughs Festival with its very own JFL42. No, there won’t be men in gorilla suits pranking old ladies in shopping malls, but there will be 42 side-splittingly hilarious acts for you to enjoy. Check it out from September 19th to the 28th at venues all across town.
The first of three headliners is Sarah Silverman. Her act is so irreverent, you’ll be all like, “Damn, this chick is just so irreverent. It’s like she reveres nothing.” And she doesn’t. ‘Cause she’s Sarah Silverman. Try not to be offended.
The second headliner is Aziz Ansari. You won’t be ‘sari’ you went to see this Parks and Recreation star. He’s your ‘ansar’ for good times at JFL42. Hopefully you won’t catch a ‘daziz’ at the show (bring hand sanitizer).
The last headline act is Family Guy Live. You know that show about Peter Griffin and his anything-but-functional family? Now you can see it live. Seth MacFarlane, Mila Kunis, Seth Green and Alex Borstein will be doing a reading from the show along with a 40-piece orchestra. Giggity, giggity!
Along with those heavy hitters, there are 39 other fantastic acts all around the city. As long as you remember to check in at shows on your smartphone, one ticket can get you access to an unlimited amount of comedy. Highlights include Anthony Jeselnik, Janeane Garofalo, Hannibal Burress, Mark Little, Kyle Dooley, and the Second City.
