There’s an old joke in the media where you insult another journalist behind his back by saying, “Oh him? He’d go to the opening of an envelope.” That said, almost all of we journalists go to the opening of a patio, even though we can safely assume that patios will re-open every year around the same time and probably look the same as they did the year before.
Maybe it has something to do with being Canadian and all those months we spend bundled up indoors, but the re-opening of a restaurant’s outdoor dining and drinking space is most definitely a reason to party, if you ask us. That’s why we’re hitting Earls at 150 King Street West again this year for the June Patio Party. Earls has a bustling after-work crowd no matter what time of year, thanks to its close proximity to Bay Street, but we expect to see all the regulars and some new faces there a little after 5pm this Wednesday, June 19th. After all, what’s better than an ice-cold beer after a long day at the office? An ice-cold beer on a patio. We’ll see you there.
