It’s been a little while since everyone’s (now former) favourite Baroness of Butter hath been removed from her cooking throne. Paula Deen, the now disgraced patron saint of grease-laden Southern cuisine, has had a bit of a tough time in the public eye thanks to her series of questionable race-related comments.
But this week’s Kickstarter campaign thinks it’s time to forgive and feast with the Foods For Forgiveness Project — a cookbook consisting of “a collection of emotional recipes from Paula Deen fans.” This campaign will feature heartfelt recipes that Deen fans have cooked in order to encourage forgiveness from people in their lives. Nothing says “I’m sorry” better than a plate of chicken and gravy, apparently. With 42 days to go, this campaign has only raised $15.00 out of the $40,000 goal. So check out their page and excuse us while we go cry into our grits.
