The best thing about entrepreneurs is also the worst: their jobs are their lives and often come first. But finding yourself fancying a guy who has such passion can end up working to your benefit. Here are tried, tested and true tips on how to swoon an entrepreneur…
Add Them On LinkedIn
The entrepreneur uses most of his time focusing on work, and unless you’ve already met him and have a personal relationship chances are he won’t be taking his precious little time to chase you. To break the ice, add him on LinkedIn. Someone invested in their work is likely to keep tabs on who’s adding them and who’s viewing their profile, and you get the added benefit of seeing whether or not he checks out your deets. Thanks, LinkedIn. Once you’ve added each other, send him a private message asking the best email to reach him at and then shoot him a friendly e-intro email. This shows him you, too, are a professional, and will definitely build intrigue from the get-go – whether it be professionally or romantically. Tip: Make sure you have a classy, recently updated picture on your profile.
Indulge In Their Passion
Once you’ve made your introduction, inquire about all things him. The entrepreneurial gent works hard and loves to show off (and share) his accomplishments. If you’re getting together on a date, indulge in all things pertaining to his work. Before you meet up, do your research so you’re familiar with what he does. Reference something you loved about his latest project, question why he went with the font and images he did on his website, and be sure to tell him how much you admire his passion for his work. He’s likely single because many a girlfriend past weren’t comfortable that his work was a priority. Show him you admire that, and that you aren’t needy.
Ask Him For Some Pointers
Share your latest work challenges with him and let him help guide you. This shows him you value his opinion, and also creates a deeper connection and bonding. When we share our vulnerabilities with others they tend to be more open with us in turn.
Make Connections
Whether it’s using your connections to e-intro him to someone in his field, or bringing him with you to an après work networking event, these seemingly little things can go a long way. It shows him that you believe in whatever it is he’s working on and that you’re willing to invest in his interests.
