So you swiped right and he just so happened to as well, and suddenly an alert pops up on your phone that you’ve made a match. Although that’s all well and good, many of my guy friends admit to swiping right on all girls’ photos, with an ‘I’ll take what I can get’ mentality.
To prevent you from being just another girl for fellas to mindlessly flirt with for an ego boost, and to actually seal the deal (if you will), here are some tips on how to stick out and how to make men want to take you out…
Don’t Be Difficult
The whole point of this dating app is to meet various people until you find one you sorta, kinda want to settle down with. If you’re attracted to a guy and get a good vibe after the first few messages you share, set a date to meet up. Don’t pretend you’re gauging his personality, and, even worse, don’t ask him questions to ‘test’ him to see if he’s for you. People can say what they want to come off a certain way, so why waste time when you can just meet up in person and see if there’s chemistry or interest? Beat the BS and just go on a date. By being easy to work with and setting something up, you show him that you’re not just a pretty face and that he’s worth your time.
Use Truthful Pictures
There’s nothing worse than posting a shot of you and a better looking friend as your main photo only for a gent to add you thinking you’re your friend. As soon as you use group shots in your images, you become a bit of a gamble. You have five images to choose so be selective by picking various shots that showcase your personality. And if your goal is to swoon a guy on Tinder, avoid group shots or shots with you and your friends. Save those for your Instagram, girl.
Don’t Be A Ho
Mind my bluntness, but if you post various bikini and beach shots you’re pigeonholing yourself. Yes this is a dating app, but it’s a hookup app all in the same. Sure, a bikini shot will grab his attention, but boy isn’t thinking with his head when he see’s that shot (if you know what I’m saying). You don’t need to be in a turtleneck or snowsuit, but you can still post sexy pics of yourself that don’t involve you sweating in a bikini. You feel me?
Be Engaging
Ask questions, create banter, be interesting. Drive some of the energy by showing you’re interested without being desperate. Hate to break it to you, but you aren’t the only little lady he’s talking to on the app. If you want to stick out from the others, avoid writing a general “What’s up?” and instead showcase that playful personality of yours. An easy start: Reference one of his more interesting Tinder pics and ask him about it. Easy does it.
