If you could wish for one thing, what would it be? World peace, d’uh. If you, like most of us, have watched enough Honey Boo Boo that you actually believe it can come true, check out international yoga gurus Moksha Yoga’s annual “Speak Your Peace” campaign. Speak Your Peace aims to encourage peaceful action by individual students and communities, both on and off the mat, and to encourage them to discover what peace means to them. The charitable aspect of this year’s campaign hopes to raise $60,000 in donations for Amnesty International, the world’s largest human rights organization, while also raising awareness about peace. They will do this through a by-donation class held at more than 60 Moksha Yoga locations worldwide, gathering funds from their August and September Karma classes, and encouraging the yoga community (students, teachers, studio owners) to engage the world on social media about what peace means to them and those around them.
If you’re interested in bringing the state of the world up with some downward dog, the by-donations classes will be held candle-lit on September 21st (International Day of Peace), with the social media set to launch September 1st.
