Well, I think it’s time to give my hometown of Toronto some love. For the past several years, this city has really made its mark on the international music scene. As time goes by, each genre has made its contribution – indie rock, hardcore, acoustic/singer-songwriter, and folk. If you dig a little deeper, you’ll discover that the electro-pop scene is booming. Intrigued? If so, check out the group Ain’t No Love. If you’re a passionate music lover, the pop genre can be a little dodgy. It’s not easy finding decent music with lyrics of substance matched up with a good beat. But Ain’t No Love’s Elias McBean, Roly Broere, and Saidah Bowen of Toronto are bringing just that: Not only do they specialize in sincere lyrics and solid beats, but each individual fully delivers their own unique sound creating a group that truly stands out.
There’s flow with Elias and Roly’s rapping and it totally works with Saidah’s soft yet strong singing. Last summer, they released the catchy single and video for their song “Fake Your Dreams” through MuchFACT and recently released another titled “Blinded” through the organization, which was filmed in Canada’s east coast. Ain’t No Love played the main stage this past month in Ottawa for Winterlude along with other shows and festivals since the video release for “Fake Your Dreams.” This week they’re busy playing two showcases at SXSW (South by Southwest) in Austin, Texas. These guys are making waves so keep your eyes and ears on them, as big things are sure to happen. Along with tons of songs, the group’s Soundcloud is full of remixes. Check out the video for “Blinded” above, and make sure to like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter for all updates.
