Sometimes all you need is an afternoon nap to kickstart the rest of your day – especially if you’ve just had a big lunch. For the month of August, skip the stealthy office siestas and doze off inside a Snooze Room instead.
Keep an eye out. Big white shipping containers striped with blue will be popping up across Toronto. Inside? Well, probably someone sleeping.
Dubbed the Snooze Room, each nap station is decked out with a full-size bed, complete with fresh sheets and fluffy pillows. The main attraction, however, is the Casper Mattress, something the company’s General Manger of Canada, Nicole Tapscott, calls, ‘outrageously comfortable’.

But aside comfort, what differentiates Casper from other mattresses is the convenience – the mattresses come in all sizes (ranging between $725 for a twin and $1275 for a California King,) and can be ordered online. It’s then shipped directly to your home, where you can unroll it and relax for 100 nights before you make any final decisions. Should you hate it, Casper will pick it up and return it for free.

The Snooze Room, open Monday to Friday 11am to 7pm and Saturday to Sunday 12pm to 8pm, will be stationed at King & Portland (602 King St. West) until August 14th. Afterward, you’ll be able to find it in Liberty Village (80 Lynn Williams St.) from August 19-21 and two spots in Yorkville: Yonge and Bloor (2 Bloor West) and Bay and Bloor (121 Bay Street) from August 23-25. For optimal snoozing, take a calculated approach and book a bed ahead of time.
