Looking for a new TO neighbourhood to explore? Look no further than The Annex. While you’ve likely been to a few spots in the popular area, it’s probably time to revisit and check out some of the places on this list. Regardless of if you’re in the mood for pizza, vegan eats, thrifted clothes, or even a place to stay, this list has you covered!

Here are all the hotspots in The Annex you have to check out
If you’re a bargain hunter, then you need to know about Common Sort. This consignment store has a couple of other locations in the city but this one in The Annex is secretly my fave. The vibe here is as cool as it gets and you never know what you’ll find when you pop in. Plus, consigning is a great way to get rid of any unwanted but lightly worn items sitting in your closet while making a few bucks!
Got bagels on the brain? Who doesn’t! Schmaltz Appetizing boasts some of the best bagel sandos in the city so if you’re in the neighbourhood, don’t miss out on stopping in here. Load yours up high with cream cheese (avail in different flavours), lox, pastrami, or herring. It’ll be hard to choose but the choice is yours!
Known for being the neighbourhood’s newer hotels, Annex Hotel isn’t your basic run-of-the-mill hotel. In addition to each room having no phone, there is also a self-serve closet where you can grab all the pillows and extra blankets your heart desires. The rooms here are super cool but what you really want to check out is the food like Aunty Lucy’s Burgers, the Brunswick Patio, and the Wine Bar.
The Cat’s Meow
Located on the edge of The Annex on Avenue Road just south of Dupont is The Cat’s Meow and it’s where you’ll find some of the best vintage designer finds. This is the place to browse if you’re in search of unique and hard-to-find gems that everyone will want to know where it’s from.
Fresh on Bloor
Thought vegan food had no flavour? Clearly you’ve never been to Fresh because everything on the menu is delicious and packed with flavour. There are a few locations across the city but this one is situated at Spadina and Bloor. Here you’ll be able to find and dig into all your faves like the Quinoa Onion Rings, Beyond Cheeseburger, and of course, the Carrot Cake for dessert!
If vegan eats aren’t your jam then don’t worry because Knockout Chicken is the spot to go for crispy chicken, wings, delicious sides, and much more. There are a few locations but the Annex spot is on Bloor just east of Bathurst. The specials change daily and it’s the best bang for your buck because you can score a mountain of food for a wicked price!
Known for being one of TO’s top grocery stores, Summerhill Market’s Annex location is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood. If you’ve never been before, you need to change that ASAP because, in addition to the amazing restaurant-quality premade meals, the grocer carries many hard-to-find brands that need to be on your radar.
