Are you born in December or January??? Is it just me or doesn’t that suck?? First, it’s cold and snowy – unless you’re lucky enough to spend it somewhere hot – and second, they’re so close to Christmas that most people don’t feel like celebrating anymore, AND there’s always that most common comment: “Merry Christmas! This is your xmas/bday present”… LOL. If you’re born close to Christmas, I’m sure you can relate! So this year I decided a big birthday party was in order – especially after 2011’s ups and downs!
2011 was the official launch of View the Vibe and while it was amazing to see the response, it was also tough. I remember drudging through the freezing cold snow with my very supportive best friend, Sam, knocking on doors, trying to sell my new video marketing concept! It was cold, wet and at 5pm it was ALWAYS time for wine…. But 1 year later, View the Vibe is helping restaurants brand themselves through innovative and high quality videos and the snow drudging is not so frustrating anymore.
Ironically, I decided to throw a birthday bash at famed Toronto supper club Babaluu for both Sam and I on the very superstitious Friday, the 13th. I thought I would try some reverse psychology with this famous unlucky date… I am born Jan. 7th and she is Jan. 20th so Jan. 13th seemed like a good idea – at the time. Of course waking up to the first major SNOW fall of the year did made me curse slightly. My Brazilian party dress was suddenly not so appropriate… However, I followed the View the Vibe philosophy; think positive, keep a smile, and did it up big! I wore my dress anyway and celebrating in the swanky Babaluu with hot salsa dancing definitely helped minimize the BLAH of the Toronto snow outside the supper club…

Even through the snow almost everyone showed up and WOW, what a PARTY! Babaluu – Toronto’s best salsa supper club – served up a delicious 3-course menu and the amazing cake makers, Bobbette & Belle created an unforgettable salted caramel buttercream cake. Ya – it was that good.
Michelle, the lovely Sales Manager at View the Vibe, took charge of vlogging that night catching the delicious meal and a ton of salsa lovers on camera. Watch here – I guarantee you will want to plan your next celebration at Babaluu!
