It’s that time of the year in Toronto – Winterlicious time. Last year, we tried a few different spots that were GREAT. Reds Bistro was my personal favourite. This year we selected three different Toronto hot spots: Luma, Malena and Volos. The first one we hite was Luma and I invited three of my favourite ladies: Stella Yu of www.FoodJunkieChronicles.com, Valerie Stachurski of www.ImCharmingYou.com and Sandy Trojanesk who has the cutest bachelor blog http://sassygirl-bachelorbabble.blogspot.com/.
The executive chef of Luma is Jason Bangerter – one of my favourite chefs in the city. His love for what he does is so obviously reflected in the food he serves and on this particular night, he treated the four of us like queens. Rather than each choosing 1 appetizer, 1 main course, and 1 dessert, the Chef decided to give us a full tasting of the Winterlicious menu. WOW. It was truly a delicious and memorable meal… my favourites were the beetroot soup – which says a lot for a girl who HATES soup… and the flat iron steak with truffle au jus. I mean, honestly, need I say more?
The ladies and I thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful sampling to the point where the word “foodgasm” came up a few too many times… Watch us indulge in this 6-course meal starting with an over the top charcuterie platter.
