It’s no secret that my hair is big, dry, and frizzy. Growing up, it was curly and crazy and I hated it. In my 20s it was super wavy, thick, and gorgeous. I loved it. In my 30s, the curl relaxed more and more on an annual basis. For the last year the curl comes and goes as it pleases (no word of a lie), which drives me nuts. As a result, and in order to always look well put together, I have been using the Keratin Complex flat iron. Well, my advice to you is: Stay the hell away from that thing. It may flatten your hair to a shiny state, but it ruined my locks to the point that in February I cut my hair into a bob. Now, that said, the bob looks great (at least I think so), but unfortunately the breakage and texture of my hair remains the same.
Apparently hair changes every seven years, and particularly around the age of 40, so it’s normal to see a change in texture and thickness. But what I’m experiencing is more than a change; it’s also dry and damaged and, because of the flat iron on crack I used for two years, it breaks every time I brush it. So, I have been in “save my hair” mode for the last few months, and I am finally seeing a difference.
One of the biggest things I did was to incorporate a “flat iron heat protector” into my hair regime. I’ve been using the LaCoupe ORGNX Flat Iron Spray Heat Protector and have definitely seen a difference. Also, having changed my flat iron to a ceramic one, I apply the protector on my hair every time I use the flat iron. Not only does it protect it, I’ve also noticed it smooths the frizzies away, which is an added bonus.
Have dry, damaged, broken hair and you use the curling or flat iron daily? Try this product on each section of hair you use the iron with. It will do wonders!
