Sharpen your chopsticks. Nobu, the Japanese fusion restaurant that boasts a huge celebrity following including the likes of the Kardashians, Chrissy Teigan, Rihanna and more, is opening in Toronto!
Just this morning, Madison Group, Westdale Properties, and Nobu Hospitality announced plans for Nobu Toronto. The ambitious project will feature the first Nobu-branded high-rise residences and Canada’s first Nobu Hotel and Nobu Restaurant.
Founded by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Academy Award winner Robert De Niro and Hollywood producer Meir Teper, Nobu is one of the world’s most talked about luxury hospitality brands and big things are planned for Toronto. The development will be located in the heart of the city’s Entertainment District on Mercer Street.
The residences will be designed by Teeple Architects and Studio Munge, featuring 700 suites spanned over 49 storeys, a “Zen Garden” outdoor terrace, state-of-the-art fitness centre, party and meeting rooms. While the hotel, situated in the west tower, will feature luxurious guest sweets with panoramic views of the city. The restaurant will span 15,000 square feet over two levels, and include a bar lounge, outdoor seating, and private dining rooms.
Pre-construction sales for the Nobu Residences begin this summer. No exact opening date has been announced for the Nobu Hotel and Nobu Restaurant, but we imagine we’ll have to wait until at least 2018 before we see any developments.
