October is the only month of the year where the “Sports Equinox” can take place. That is, having all 4 of the big sports play on one day. It’s a very short window and a fun one as a city if you can experience it. Unfortunately for the city of Toronto, we only have NBA, NHL and MLB teams (no NFL in Canada folks) and only 2 will be playing in the fall.
The Blue Jays will be wrapping up their season on September 29th with a whimper. Once again they will not be participating in playoff baseball and Rogers Centre will effectively shut down for the winter. BUT, there are other options this fall….

For one, the Toronto Maple Leafs kick off their season at Scotiabank Arena on October 2nd against provincial rivals the Ottawa Senators. The game starts at 7 PM EST and Tickets are available, but will likely go quick.
They share the arena with the reigning NBA champs, the Raptors. They’re set to kick things off on October 22nd versus the Pelicans. Without Kawhi Leonard, a lot of “experts” are already writing this team off, but make no mistake, this team will certainly be a contender in the East.
If you’re looking to see Don Cherry or Drake, Scotiabank Arena is the place to do it this Fall.
