Open Streets TO takes place this Sunday, August 17th between 8am and noon!
What started in New York and LA to promote a healthy lifestyle and allow businesses along the route to set up shop on the streets, Open Streets TO is now coming to the city for its inaugural year!
The streets of Bloor, from Spadina to Parliament, and Yonge, from Bloor to Queen, will be closed to traffic and open to the public for the city’s largest recreational program! Focusing on promoting physical activity and the exploration of a variety of neighbourhoods, the public will be able to cycle, jog, skateboard, walk on the paved streets and enjoy what Toronto has to offer.
Along with local vendors on the sidewalk, nearby parks and recreation spaces will act as ‘hubs’ and offer a variety of neat programs for families!
If you can’t make it this Sunday, fear not, because Open Streets TO will be back on Sunday, August 31st!
