If there’s one word that’s been catching lots of traction, it’s got to be metaverse. Different companies across industries are getting in on the action, fashion, tech and more all coming up spaces in the metaverse. This includes food brands. Amongst the latest to join? Oreo. The popular cookie brand is launching a new cookie and its first metaverse experience by end of the month.
About Oreo’s metaverse
Let’s start with the virtual world, or in this case, the OREOVERSE. It’s being released in Meta Horizon Worlds, which fans can experience from January 30th. There are different levels of cookie-themed games, which can be played using the Meta Quest headsets. You can also check it out on your phone or through a desktop computer.
“We’re so excited to dunk into the OREOVERSE and give our brand fans a new way to stay playful with a world built on the premise that anything is possible,” Peter Verlinden, Brand Manager, OREO, said in a press release statement.
About the limited-edition cookie
And now, let’s talk about their new cookie. It’s called The Most Oreo Oreo cookies. They are cookies-n-creme flavoured meaning the creme in the middle has Oreo pieces mixed into it! This, just like the metaverse launch, is also a first for the brand.
The MOST OREO OREO will be available in stores in Toronto and the rest of Canada from early February. So make sure to keep an eye out for the exact date, because it’s only going to be around for a short time!
