Torisho Fried Chicken in Toronto
The speciality of Torisho is its karaage chicken. The word ‘karaage’ refers to a Japanese style of cooking, wherein the ingredient is coated lightly with flour, potato or corn starch. Once coated, the item is then deep fried in oil. The same technique can not only be used for chicken, but for other meat and fish as well.
Straight off the bat, you can tell what Torisho’s all about by looking at the menu. The karaage is available in different forms, like boneless thigh, boneless breast and wings. There are various bento boxes present too, including chicken katsu and chicken nanban (chicken breast coated in egg and potato starch, fried and then covered in nanban sauce).
There’s different dipping sauces to choose from, like spicy mayo and sweet chilly sauces. For sides, you can go with either a house salad or potato salad. An official opening date hasn’t been announced yet for Torisho fried chicken in Toronto. But the location is set to be at 1940 Queen Street East.
