Yesterday we received a detailed look at Samsung’s latest TV technologies and it’s safe to say that the 2021 lineup is looking to have a LOT of promise. With all the time we’ve been spending indoors this past year, Samsung recognizes the need for homes to be functional and versatile (or an “Omni-layered home” as they put it). They have created impressive screens to reflect people’s changing lives and to better suit our stay-at-home lifestyle. Check out the exciting 2021 lineup below.
Lifestyle Televisions
To kick things off, Samsung unveiled a new version of the popular and attractive Samsung Frame TV. This year’s edition is slimmer than ever at a mere 24.9mm thick, or about the width of a real picture frame. Samsung also released new ways to display The Frame television by releasing 5 bezel colour options and mentioning third-party providers offering other styles to fit your personal taste as well. Additionally, they announced new partnerships within the Art Store, such as with Nava Contemporary and Etsy, to provide even more options for how you choose to display your Samsung Frame. Samsung has also upgraded the 2021 model’s storage to 6GB, allowing you to create a more robust photo album with up to 1200 photos.
Samsung announced further exciting upgrades to 2 pre-existing devices. Their rotating TV screen, The Sero, will now be compatible with Apple AirPlay 2 both horizontally and vertically, as well as TikTok is soon to be available on the TV. For those missing the movie theatre experience, Samsung has introduced the first triple laser projector with 4K resolution, offering much better picture quality than other beam projectors on the model. This device can project from up to as close as 11cm from a screen or blank wall!
The water and dust resistant outdoor TV model, The Terrace, got an upgrade as well. The 75″ smart television now has full-sun protection for better viewing, just in time for the summer. This outdoor TV doesn’t compromise sound, visuals or the smart features of other models.
Samsung Quantum MiniLED and Monitors
One of the star features of Samsung’s announcement was the Neo QLED TVs, which use more MicroLED backlights than ever to allow for bolder colours and contrasts. They will now be available in 4K and 8K sets with sizes ranging from 55″ to 85″. The same Quantum MiniLED technology has been applied to new models of the curved Odyssey G9 gaming monitor, for a much more immersive gaming experience.
Samsung also introduced the first-ever Smart Monitor. This monitor is for both business and pleasure as it can mirror your phone and MacBook through a simple tap and Microsoft can be accessed through the monitor, even without a PC.
