Jian Ghomeshi trial already creating city-wide drama…
Juice factor: 10/10
After just two days in court where Jian Ghomeshi is being tried for four counts of sexual assault and one of choking, the prosecution and the defence weren’t the only ones at odds with one another. Media personalities and journalists alike are holding each other accountable for potentially damaging choices of words when speaking of the trial. So far, only one alleged victim has taken the stand to be cross-examined by Ghomeshi’s powerhouse lawyer Mary Henein, but that’s already provided substantial material for social media showdowns. We expect The Star’s Kevin Donovan may get his fair share of haters after describing the first complainant as,”a struggling actor and part-time cocktail hostess seven years older than Ghomeshi,”
Blind item: high-profile Toronto couple split over a serious drug problem
Juice factor: 9/10
When a beautiful Canadian couple breaks up, we feel just a tinge of the sadness we once felt when McGosling announced their uncoupling. A very recent breakup between two entertainment industry powerhouses shocked those in-the-know of their split. After all, they’ve always given off signs that their mutual attraction is all consuming–and we’ve always just assumed that’s the general feeling when two extremely hot people decide to couple up. The male half of the high-profile duo abruptly ended the relationship recently after discovering his partner’s increasingly crazed behaviour had less to do with stress and more to do with cocaine.
And the new Robert Pattinson is…
Juice factor: 7/10
Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean we find it any less creepy that we’re a little obsessed with 18-year-old LA-based surfer and guitarist Dylan Lee… who happens to be the offspring of Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson. But at least we’re not the only one. Saint Laurent designer Hedi Slimane cast Dylan in his latest campaign for the iconic fashion house, adding further evidence to the notion that culture is heading west to find a new headquarters. Check out the Saint Laurent Spring 2016 campaign and see the deliciously scandalous images for yourself.
One of the most shockingly powerful Hollywood stars is…
Juice factor: 8/10
…Jaden Smith? Sure, he might owe all his VIP muscle to dad, but that doesn’t mean he can’t flex it for his own interests when he’s so inclined. The whole Smith family is practically a Care Bear stare on scid when they stand side-by-side on the red carpet together, but this week Jaden didn’t need Mom and Dad to co-sign for him when he took home one of first new Tesla SUVs after production was delayed for over a year. Who needs to go to the Oscars, anyway?
Drake responds to Obama’s diss with a rap. Take that, America!
Juice factor: 8/10
Yes, you read right. President Barack Obama was recently asked who he’d put his money on–Drake or Kendrick Lamar–if the two music icons had a rap battle to settle the score. Obama said Lamar… to which Drake just recently responded:
Looking for revenge
To do what you couldn’t do
Tell Obama that my verses are just like the whips that he in
Minus twenty we in Pitfield
That Kai’s kitchen in a Canada Goose
Famous as f*** but I’m still in the cut when they round up the troops
I’m just a sicko a real sicko when you get to know me n*****
I let the diss record drop, you was staying right below me, n****
Why would I put a vest I expect you to aim for his head?
I coulda killed you the first time
