In Search For The City’s Cheapest Booze Deals? There’s An App For That!

Anyone else tired of paying too much for drinks? I was at a bar the other day and a domestic beer cost me over $8! I was not at all impressed. The reality is when you are leaving work and heading out for drinks with friends, you want somewhere close and possibly with a patio. When it comes to cost, more often than not you just hope and pray. However, with the help of an app, you can have it all: find the perfect place nearby that also has inexpensive drinks! First, grab your phone. Second, download one of these drink deal-sharing apps. Third, head in and get some beverages without breaking the bank. Four, have a good time!

DrinkOwl
With over 53, 176 drink specials in 75+ cities, DrinkOwl is by far the gold standard in finding an inexpensive drink any day of the week. The simple interface tells you what’s on special that day, whether it’s liquor, beer, wine or something else, and it shows you results in a map interface. The app has been around for about 3 years now, so they have really been able to work out the kinks, and they have a version for all major mobile operating systems.

Foursquare
Yes, the Check-In Mayorship app Foursquare is actually a great source of information on drink deals. While it doesn’t have a great way to easily find specials, with a little bit of digging you can find user submitted tips and deals at nearly all the places you love. Nevertheless, like all things, it is what you get out of it – so if you find a special make sure to share!

Yelp
The top user reviews and recommendation app, Yelp offers you access to a larger user base than Foursquare and gives you information you will never find anywhere else about all the local watering holes. Finding drink deals can be a little bit more difficult than Foursquare, though, but the reward in finding them feels that much more satisfying. The added benefit of Yelp is that you can sort based on price range, so if a cheap beer is your desire this app will immediately filter out the places likely to sell you a double digit microbrew.

TorontoDrinksWeekly.com
While not an app, this website should absolutely be bookmarked on your phone! Toronto Drinks Weekly is by far the most detailed and complete database of every single drink deal in the city. You can filter drink deals by day of the week, neighbourhood, and even the kind of drink that you’re after. The website has everyone covered in this city and should be your go-to site! (Be forewarned: Sometimes lapsed deals or shuttered spots will still appear in search results.)
