Welcome to February — the month between the dank, depressing darkness of January that comes right before the dreary, endless frostbitten days of March. Gawd, winter’s awful. Even those of us who try to play winter sports or do outdoorsy things like smoke outside can still feel the weight of the coldest season on our emotional well-being as time feels frozen still, much like whatever we left on the balcony back in November. Jokes aside, nearly 20% of the people in Northern locations like Canada struggle with perennial bouts of winter blues, better known by doctors as Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.). Hey, whether you’ve been diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder or just think February blows chunks because your apartment’s legitimately small and exacerbating to be trapped in, we feel ya. That’s why we scoured the online stores from the comfort of our heated office to find you “Seasonal Affective Disorder-Inspired Home Accents.” Sure the title’s cheeky, but forgive us — we needed a good office laugh after crying as a group didn’t turn out so well therapeutically. In honour of the mind-numbing cold days of February, especially for those of us without a Valentine, we bring you Vv Magazine’s Seasonal Affective Disorder Home Accents…
