When we hear of new restaurants, bars, lounges, what-have-you openings, naturally we get a li’l enthralled at the prospects. (Unless, of course, it’s another ramen joint, or another burger bar, or another Italian restaurant, etc.) And in case you haven’t noticed, we’re now in the thralls of the 2.0 trend: restaurants/bars opening up second locations has become the new a la mode – Holy Chuck Burgers, Buca, Pizzeria Via Mercanti, and the list rolls on. So when we heard that the cool peeps behind Snakes & Lattes were set to open up a second joint, we started to get a bit tight in the pants. Best part about the new digs? There shalt be booze! Can we get a Hail Mary Full of Grace, yo?!
Yes, in a mere 23 days, 8 hours, 16 minutes, and 24 seconds (according to the countdown on the website at the moment of publishing this ditty), Snakes & Lagers will be opening its doors at 488 College Street. Amen. The new board game bar will boast the same convivial atmosphere we adore about Snakes & Lattes, but we’ll be gettin’ tipsy playing round after round of Cards Against Humanity.
We’re thinking that spots boasting board games are the new trend because most of us have lost the art of the conversation thanks to not-so-smartphones and 140-character sentences comprising our current vernacular. But we won’t complain. A shot per lost buy-up during Monopoly sounds like a killer drinking game, so we’ll “begrudgingly” comply.
Stay up-to-date with Snakes & Lagers pre-February-1st-opening via Twitter, Facebook, and the countdown on its website. We will be. See you opening night!
