Now you can get some of your favourite restaurant dishes delivered to you frozen. SPATULA Foods has teamed up with some local restaurants to sell flash-frozen meal kits of their top dishes.
About SPATULA Foods and their new collaboration
SPATULA Foods has launched Powered by SPATULA, which is a collaboration with Toronto’s most popular restaurants. The platform acts as a one-stop-shop, where Ontarians can get the restaurants’ top dishes as flash-frozen meal kits. You can make them under 10 minutes and all you need is a pan and a spatula.
“The Powered by SPATULA platform offers restaurants the opportunity to maximize kitchen downtime and create incremental revenue that helps to offset the recessionary pressures we’re all feeling. It’s a win-win for everyone,” said Ian Weng, Co-Founder and CEO of SPATULA Foods Inc. in a press release statement.
SPATULA already has 30+ flash-frozen dishes that has developed by renowned chefs, including Chef, Co-Founder & Top Chef Finalist, Wallace Wong. There’s also a SPATULA Frozen Marketplace. You find dishes from restaurants like General Assembly Pizza, Crafty Ramen and GUSTO 101.
Here are the new local restaurants that are currently available on the platform, with more coming soon:
- GIA: Plant-based Italian spot with dishes like Porcini Agnolotti with Wild Mushrooms and Parmesan and Ricotta Gnocchi Pomodoro with Pesto
- Casa Manila: Filipino dishes like Coconut Ginger Shrimp, and Tangy Garlic Chicken Adobo with Long Beans and Jasmine Rice
- Hong Shing: Family-style Chinese dishes, including General Tao Chicken with Green Peppers and Jasmine Rice
- Northern Heat Rib Series: Louisiana Bar-B-and Texas Jack’s BB Pit will be available for customers to order all year from this travelling rib fest spot
“Powered by SPATULA dishes are the next generation of our perfected, flash-frozen offering and I am beyond excited to be partnering with some of my favourite restaurants in the city to bring even more diversity to dinner tables across Ontario,” said C0-Founder Wallace Wong, in a press release statement.
The fully available items and participating restaurants across the province can be found online via the website. Delivery is available across Southwestern Ontario, including the GTA, Ottawa, Kingston, London, Hamilton, and Burlington.
