It’d be an understatement to say that there’s been a lot of celebrity spotting in the city this year. Many of which had nothing to do with the Toronto International Film Festival, but it’s not surprising, given Toronto’s culinary landscape. Some have been seen dining at hotspots in the city, including none other than Marvel star, Simu Liu. The actor shared on his Instagram that he stopped by one of Toronto’s popular Japanese restaurants.

The Canadian actor dined at Aburi Hana, located in the Yorkville neighbourhood. According to the story posted by Liu, he stated, “Thank you @hanayorkville for such an amazing meal w/family!!!”
The restaurant’s executive chef, Ryusake Nakagawa, also shared on his Instagram story a picture with the actor with the caption, “Thank you for coming @simuliu!”
Liu’s been seen at various Toronto restaurants this year, including an appearance at Selva. The actor had also shared in the past via a partnership with Google that some of his favourite restaurants in The 6ix included Sabai Sabai and Tachi.
Aburi Hana is operated by the same team behind Miku and TORA. The menu spotlights Kyō-Kaiseki cuisine and offers a tasting menu. It also includes dishes that focus on the Aburi (flame-seared) technique of cooking.
