I am unashamedly the biggest fan of the dark lip. Upon one impulse-filled trip to Shoppers Drug Mart, I stumbled upon Revlon’s Va Va Violet – a deep plum colour – and never looked back.
It was the perfect contrast to the continual winter white we were subject to during the season that shall not be named in fear of its imminent return aka winter. There’s no better way to spring into the new season than with some brand new shades. Easter is just about here, bringing with it an excuse for me to consume excessive amounts of chocolate and pretty pastel shades to wear. Here are some items to look out for…
Eyes
This couture collection is based on Marie Antoinette. The Diorshow Fusion Mono Matte in Fantaisie goes on matte in a soft, rosy shade perfect for daytime wear. It’s the perfect shade to spruce up your office makeup look. Oh, and it truly is flattering on all skin tones!
Face + Lips
You can’t go wrong with Benefit’s Lollitint. This versatile product doubles as a cheek and lip stain, and with a name like “lolli” this playful purple-tinged shade provides a long-lasting lavender tint. Pop it on the apples of your cheeks for a perfectly flushed look, or apply it to your lip for that extra oomph!
Hair
That’s right, I went there. If you dare to take your pastel love to the next level, look no further than Sephora’s Pastel Hair Chalk in Lilac. This hair chalk can be applied temporarily for a bold look (that washes out with water, fear not).
