Whether you’re attending a music festival, going on a camping trip, or are just spending a bit of time outdoors, you might very well need a cooler to keep your drinks cold this summer. Fortunately, there are a number of high-quality coolers on the market, each of which offers something a little different in terms of size and functionality.
Need help finding a good cooler? Then read on. We’re going to discuss the 10 best coolers of 2019!
What Are the Best Coolers of 2019?
Whether you’re looking for a hard cooler, a soft cooler, a large cooler, or a small cooler, there’s something out there for you. That being said, these are the best of the bunch.
1. YETI Tundra 65
These days, when people think of high-quality coolers, they almost inevitably think of YETI. This company produces some of the most effective coolers of all time, the latest of which is the YETI Tundra 65. With 52 quarts of storage space, it can keep items cold for days at a time.
Absurdly durable, it can take quite the beating. This makes it great for camping trips and other high-impact activities.
It does have downsides, however, the two biggest of which are its price (it’s one of the most expensive coolers on the market) and its weight. Weighing in at 29 pounds when empty, it’s anything but portable.
2. Driftsun 75-Quart Ice Chest Cooler
While Driftsun isn’t quite as popular as YETI, its coolers arguably possess the same level of quality. Driftsun has a number of top-notch coolers on the market right now, but perhaps the best of the bunch is this 75-quart monster.
Available for a fraction of the price of the YETI Tundra 65, it might be the best bargain you’ll come across. Insulative, durable, and spacious, it can keep food and beverages cool for up to several days.
Unfortunately, like the Tundra 65, its size limits its portability. When empty, it weighs a staggering 32 pounds.
3. Coleman Steel-Belted 54-Quarter Cooler
This Coleman cooler offers a size that is similar to that of the YETI Tundra 65 but at a much lower price. Made out of stainless steel, it’s as durable as coolers come, and is designed to handle rough conditions.
Though it won’t retain ice for quite as long as the two coolers reviewed above, it’s insulated enough to get your food and beverages through a day or two of camping.
One of the areas in which this cooler has the Tundra 65 and the Driftsun beat is in its weight. It weighs around 19 pounds, making it a much more portable option.
4. Elkton 45-Quart Ice Chest Cooler
Next up is this 45-quarter cooler from Elkton. Big, tough, and insulative, it’s more than capable of getting food and drinks through a weekend-long camping trip.
Weighing in at 23 pounds when empty, it’s not exactly lightweight but is manageable compared to other coolers of its ilk. If you’re looking for a semi-portable cooler that can hold quite a bit of product, this is one to consider.
It’s on the expensive side but is still reasonably priced when compared to the YETI Tundra 65.
5. YETI Hopper
Everyone knows about YETI’s hardshell coolers. However, did you know about YETI soft coolers? The company’s Hopper family of coolers is very arguably the best family of soft coolers on the market today.
There are 5 coolers in the Hopper family, including the Flip 8, the Flip 12, the Flip 18, the Backflip 24, and the Two 30. While some of these are designed to be strung over one shoulder, others of these are designed to be carried like backpacks. In all cases, they’re exceedingly portable.
While you might expect these coolers to have worse ice retention than YETI’s hardshell models, you would be pleasantly surprised. They still manage to hold ice for up to 3 days, making them great for camping trips, music festivals, and similar outdoor activities.
6. Coleman 50-Quart Wheeled Cooler
Looking for a big but portable cooler at a reasonable price? This 50-quart wheeled cooler from Coleman is just what you need. Capable of retaining ice for up to three days, it can be used for essentially anything.
To put it simply, if you’re not looking to spend hundreds of dollars on a cooler, this is the one you should buy. While it’s not as durable as the ones reviewed above, it performs its function just as well.
7. Pelican Elite 30-Quart Cooler
This cooler from Pelican is highly functional, capable of keeping items cold for entire weekends and beyond. However, for its size, it’s also rather expensive. You could find a substantially bigger cooler with comparable quality for around the same price as this one.
That being said, if you appreciate its look and its durability, it’s worth a buy. It won’t let you down.
8. Klein Tools 17-Quart Work Cooler
If you’re looking for a hardshell portable cooler, you might consider this one from Klein Tools. Designed for use on construction sites, it can take quite a beating, all the while retaining ice for days at a time.
For its size, it leans toward the expensive side. However, considering its durability, it’s well worth the purchase price.
9. Igloo Profile 16-Quart Cooler
This portable cooler from Igloo is simple but effective. Available at a reasonable price, it should suffice in keeping your items cold through day-long events, especially if those items are packed correctly. Note, however, that it’s not equipped to retain ice over entire weekends.
Equipped with two cup holders, it would ideally be used on a picnic or short hiking trip. Of course, you’re free to let your imagination run wild.
10. Arctic Zone Titan
The last cooler we’ll review is the Arctic Zone Titan, a soft cooler that’s about as portable as they come. Equipped with a shoulder strap, it weighs in at just 3.5 pounds when empty.
The Titan isn’t anywhere near the quality level of the YETI and the Pelican and the Elkton but it will suffice in getting your food and beverages through a day-long event.
Keep It Cool This Summer
And there they are, the best coolers of 2019. Whether you’re heading to an outdoor festival, taking in a sporting event, or are just having some fun at the park with your friends, these coolers will get you and your beverages through the sweltering hot days of summer.
