Looking for the perfect place for a business lunch, après shopping eats with the girls, grabbing some burgers with the guys, a place for some family time, or the perfect location to impress someone on a daytime date? STK in Yorkville has you covered. We had the chance to grab lunch there and enjoy the full afternoon STK experience – and we loved it! STK has been a Toronto fixture for the last 2 ½ – 3 years, located on the second floor of the former Four Seasons Hotel. We were immediately surprised by how light and airy the restaurant felt. The décor is impressive yet very comfortable – ideal for a quick business lunch or stay and enjoy if you have more time to linger.
We sat in the bistro area close to the floor to ceiling windows and while STK is quite large, it’s set up so that each of the areas feels intimate. The bistro area and the main dining room have comfortable, yet stylish, tubular banquettes perfect for indulging in conversations with friends, family and co-workers. We were also impressed with the lounge area – we could see it right from the bistro. The statement artwork, horns on the wall over the bar really caught our attention. We loved the lounge couches and round tables – they looked perfect for social hour and can accommodate groups of all sizes. The music added to the ambiance but was low enough that we could hear each other across the table without a struggle.
Now for the best part – the eats! Their lunch menu is slightly pared down from the dinner offering, but still offers something for everyone. It’s constructed to allow rushed business guests the ability to get in and out within an hour with a $45 prix fix menu for more leisurely diners. We also loved that there are a lot of options for family style sharing plates which means you get to try so much more of the menu. The sides are huge so you’ll definitely want a doggy bag to take them home. The table next to us ordered Mac & Cheese which inspired some major food envy.

If you’re a vegetarian, you won’t feel left out – the menu has some really innovative options that will not make you feel like an after thought. The kitchen can even adapt dishes for vegans – surprising for a steakhouse. Our favourite, aside from the mouth watering steak with red wine sauce, was the Tuna Tartare – the creamy avocado was the perfect compliment to the fresh tuna. A word of advice, be sure to leave room for dessert as you do not want to miss the Sticky Toffee Pudding, a Toronto STK exclusive and a decadent indulgence.
The restaurant was an impressive change from the ordinary lunch, and very different from your typical Yorkville offering. All of the food is prepared fresh on site and local ingredients are sourced whenever possible. With world class service, STK for lunch is a must whether it’s for business or pleasure.
