Tell us a bit about yourself. What should people know?
I live, breathe, and play in the beauty world. Throughout my 15 years in the beauty industry, I have always worked in the retail environment. Retail keeps me grounded and up-to-date with what everyday women want and love. My makeup artistry experience ranges from runway, print, fashion, TV, video, teens, kids, men and bridal.
I love my position as Lead Makeup Artist and Beauty Expert for Sdm Beauty Boutique in Brampton Mall, where I teach master classes and Makeup School. Working away at independent freelance projects, attending beauty events in Toronto, and maintaining my blogs keeps me busy, but I would not change a thing. I love what I do. Also, I am part of Lancôme Canada’s Pro Team, so be on the look out for me at Lancôme events through out the GTA.
How did you get interested in the world of beauty?
The moment I knew I wanted to be in the world of beauty was the moment I knew I was going to be a mom. I knew I wanted to be a stay-home mom so I decided to take Makeup 101 at Humber College’s continuing education program. I ended up falling in love with makeup and also realized I was a natural at makeup artistry. I completed my Makeup Artistry certificate program and was a mom and freelance bridal makeup artist for about five years.
What’s your beauty must-have?
My beauty must have is skincare. I am a believer of protecting your skin, keeping your skin hydrated, and using the right products for your skin type and conditions.
What beauty/style trends are you excited for this year?
The trends I’m excited for in 2013 are bold lips and healthy looking skin, bold brows, natural glowing skin, and the various cat-eye liners.
What’s your favourite spa or service?
My favourite service at a spa has to be a full day spa day. Does that count as one? I love the pampering of a whole day with massage, facial, mani and pedi.
What’s the one – yes, just one – product you can’t live without?
My makeup kit. That’s just one right? I can’t pick just one! Ok, let’s see… My moisturizer, or maybe mascara? No wait, maybe my fave red USA lipstick from Vasanti Cosmetics.
