As a nail artist, what have been some of the most innovative things you’ve painted on customers’ nails?
That’s the thing about Pinky’s… I’m constantly being creatively challenged to produce different and innovative things all the time, as the possibilities for nail art are pretty endless. I think the most innovative things I’ve done have come from using materials you wouldn’t associate with nails to conceptualize a nail you wouldn’t have seen before – like pom poms and denim and chains, oh my!
Do you have favourite brands of nail polish and if so why?
I’m not partial to one brand of lacquer in particular, but my favourite colours are highly pigmented or any metallic duochrome colours.
What are your favourite nail trends of the moment?
Like fashion, nail trends are constantly changing and evolving. We just got real gold and silver nail jewelery in the shop that are very ornate and eye-catching, so I’m pretty fond of those at the moment. They really elevate a set, and can be reused multiple times.
What do you think some of the next big nail trends will be?
I think the next nail trends always point to something new and unconventional, taking something from fashion or pop culture and translating them to nails. Trends always change with the season, but I think that clean, crisp work will always be chic and in style.
