Tell us a bit about yourself. What should people know?
I’m a Canadian born designer who studied and worked abroad before returning to Toronto to develop Mikhael Kale. I studied at Central Saint Martins for two years before departing to work in Italy with Antonio Marras, Bally and Exte.
What are the biggest challenges and best rewards about what you do?
Building a collection season after season, and building a collection season after season.
What are three things you can’t live without?
Family, friends and my sewing machine.

What’s your favourite restaurant and why?
Caldense Bakery. It’s situated near my studio. It’s always open… always. No one speaks English.
What’s one of your favourite go-to designers/brands or accessories lines and why do you sport their fashions?
HBC. It’s those damn stripes.
What products are always in your beauty/grooming bag?
Maybelline’s Baby Lips. It combats the driest of chapped lips… I hope they read this.
What style trends are you obsessed with right now?
Muted colour trend.
What’s your favourite spa or service?
FedEx. They are incredibly prompt and reliable and our go to for shipping samples. We owe you some money… I’m on it.
