Brand and marketing consultant Vincent Francis has already had an enviably glamourous career. With a resume that boasts killer former posts as a makeup artist for major brands, a booker and scout for top modelling agencies, and a gig as the beauty editor at KILL Magazine, he’s certainly had a beautiful life thus far. We caught up with Montreal-based Francis to find out more about his current obsessions and life in the beauty and fashion world…
Tell us a bit about yourself. What should people know?
Earning a Bachelor’s degree in communications and marketing, I was introduced to the fashion world by working at Holt Renfrew at an early age. Known for my makeup artist talents, I quickly became a senior makeup artist and represented some of the top brands in the world.
After evolving in the fashion industry for a few years, I got hired as the beauty editor for KILL Magazine. I gained a lot of praise for my work and the industry noticed my eager eye for beauty, avant-garde vision, and business skills. That is when FOLIO Montreal Agency came knocking and offered me the great opportunity to become the women’s booker, developing the new faces board. Throughout the years, I discovered and developed some of the best models in Canada.
I also had the honour to be Judy Inc’s office director in Montreal where I contributed to the success of the agency with my vision and my fashion skills. In 2012, View Management Europe asked me to work with them and to give my vision as an image and development consultant. After a year of successful work in Europe, I’m finally back in Canada to work as a brand and marketing consultant.
What are three things you can’t live without?
The amazing art selection of the Print Atelier by Maude Arsenault; a glass of 2011 Chablis, Valmur, Grand Cru, Jean-Claude Bessin; old French movies, specially from Jean Cocteau.
What’s your favourite restaurant and why?
L’Orignal in Montreal is an amazing place to have a terrific night. The food is astonishing and the music (The Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode and The Cure) is perfect. And the service is great and friendly. A must.
