We’re but days away from Toronto Cocktail Week, and we have to admit: we’re getting a li’l antsy for it to kick off. From October 1st through 7th, #TCW13 will open the cork on some of the most amazing feats of mixology, from demonstrations through to tastings through to pairings. We’re most excited, however, to be able to get some “education” while sipping on some uber tasty cocktails…
Each day of Toronto Cocktail Week offers a new experience in cocktailing. Starting with the Hogtown Shakedown – a daring competition pitting 10 mixologists against each other in boozy battle – and moving into the 25th anniversary of the Cosmopolitan (wait… was Sex and the City even on 25 years ago?), the first couple nights set a titillating tone. On Day 3, you can get a lesson from the Cocktail King, Dale DeGroff, and Day 4 sees an evening dedicated to whisky cocktails. On Saturday, October 5th, try a custom-made cocktail where you dictate its character, and Sunday will see ya indulging in some special Caesars at various brunch spots across town. Toronto Cocktail Week culminates with the #TCW13 Industry Thank You Party in conjunction with Ivy Knight’s 86’d Mondays at The Drake.
Seminars and Partner Events
Official partner events will be a la mode during #TCW13. These see seminars like Sake to Me at Rock Lobster, Let’s Negroni at SpiritHouse, and Science of Taste at The Drake. There’s also the New York Shakedown, a Meet & Greet with Forty Creek Whisky Maker John Hall, and the Can-Am Battle Royale.
During Toronto Cocktail Week, a host of Toronto restaurants will be pairing special cocktails with one small food item for only $10. While the list has yet to be announced, we’re excited as can be for this boozy bargain.
Want the VIP treatment and ‘ins’ at all the Toronto Cocktail Week events? All you have to do is pony up $300 for the Founder’s Pass, which gets you access to all the official events during #TCW13. Sound pricey? Think of it this way: that works out to about $40/night on the town. Deal? Deal!
