There are tons of Japanese sushi spots, but there are a few places that instantly come to mind. One in particular that comes to mind is Miku. The restaurant has become known for its offering of flame-seared sushi and Kaiseki experience. It’s run by the Aburi Restaurants Group, a team that’s been having a busy month it looks like. The Group is currently in the midst of a rapid expansion, with the launch of two new dining establishments in Vancouver.
About Aburi Restaurants Groups’ new dining establishments
First, it was Wa! Curry in Vancouver, which opened earlier this month. The new spot from the Aburi Restaurants Group sees a menu with three curry options, which include Iwate A5 Wagyu curry, vegan keema curry, and Iwate A5 Wagyu curry stew.
The group recently announced the launch of their ninth dining concept and it’s a Japanese bagel spot in Vancouver. Aptly called Wa-Bagel, it is set to open its doors to the public sometime between late spring and early summer. The Head Baker is Yukiko Iikura, founder of Tokyo’s Kepo bagels.

What’s on the menu
Wa-Bagel is set to offer bagels that come with fillings that are baked inside. It’s made from mixing flour with koji-based yeast and comes in flavours like red bean paste and cream cheese, sweet potato and black sesame and others. Customers will be able to enjoy both sweet and savoury items from the selection.
An exact opening date for the Japanese-style bagel shop has yet to be announced, so make sure to keep an eye out on their socials.
