Spider-Man: Far From Home was already set to be one of this summer’s biggest blockbusters. It had huge opening weekend box office expectations, and has already exceeded them. In its first ten days of world-wide release, it scored ticket sales of a cool $580 million. That’s right, more than half a billion dollars in ticket sales. We already knew that the movie had legs (8 of them), but Doritos Canada went one step further in Toronto on July 5. They invited Canadians down to an activation on Richmond Street West to test their nerves. The pay-off? A chance to win one of 6 official replicas of Peter Parker’s latest “Black & Red” suit if they took part in “A Suit for the Bold Challenge”.

This isn’t just an ordinary costume. It is an exclusive “Incognito Doritos” suit—a state-of-the-art, traditional-looking Doritos bag that covertly transforms into the “Black & Red” Spider-Man suit. The costume was made and designed by Shafton Inc. of Spider-Man: Far From Home. So, what did you have to do to win? Entrants had to push aside their arachnophobia and reach into a two-tiered box filled with wolf spiders and a tarantula. It wasn’t just a quick stick your hand in and out, you actually had to press a button on and off in order to qualify. One lucky person was selected each hour to win the suit.

If getting in touch with your inner spider wrangler wasn’t your cup of tea, you could also get selfies with some of your favourite Influencers like Lee Howard, spider_seebs (AKA the Canadian Tom Holland), SP1DER-VERSE and Oliver Marriot all dressed your like friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. If you couldn’t make it out to the event, there were more great prizes and chances to win at DoritosContest.ca.
