Burgers and baseball, an iconic duo like no other. And if we’re talking baseball, you know I’m about to bring up the beloved Toronto Blue Jays. The sports team has partnered with burger brand A&W to make it their official burger as part of a multi-year deal. Yes that’s right, the two organizations have signed an agreement to join forces for the next three years.
The Toronto Blue Jays x A&W
The news of the agreement was shared by A&W after the recent home-away-from-home Seattle series. The matches saw numerous west coast Blue Jays fans go all the way from Vancouver to Seattle, during which time Allen Lulu made an appearance too. He’s best known to many as the ‘A&W guy’, a title received due to being the star of the burger brand’s ads.
“At A&W, we’re big baseball fans,” said Amanda Wang, Director of National Promotions & Loyalty, in a press release. “As a Canadian company, we’re so excited to support Canada’s Team as the ‘Official Burger of the Blue Jays.”
Given A&W’s past connections to the Toronto Blue Jays’ team, the partnership makes sense. The burger chain has been a sponsor of the Vancouver Canadians since 2006, which is the Jays’ High-A Minor League affiliate.
You’ll be seeing more of A&W at Rogers Centre following the All-Star Break. In addition, the chain is also looking to launch new collaborations in its restaurants during the summer. So there’s lots to look forward to for baseball and burger fans alike.
