Checking out the new and improved sleek Asian lounge
Bā Restaurant is an old Fairmont favourite, now back and up and running at Fairmont The Palm location. At Bā, you’ll get the best of Asian cuisine with sushi, noodles, and all kinds of sharing plates. This is a great low-key bar style restaurant with beautiful views (if you can get a window seat first) where they even host a Ladies Night every Thursday called Bachelorette Thursdays. Ladies can capitalize on the free-flowing drinks for 99 AED between 6pm and 9pm every week.
The Place
Bā Restaurant is located inside Fairmont The Palm right at the entrance to The Palm Jumeirah’s iconic island. Situated on the upper ground floor level of the Fairmont, Bā gives you a classic feel with added beachy vibes. The Palm Jumeirah is Dubai’s most coveted beach location if you’re looking to breathe in that refreshing sea foam air alongside city skyline views.
Bā’s dark, sleek, and modern-contemporary design gives you a romantic feel while eating right next to the Palm Jumeirah’s beach. There are clean-cut Asian-inspired room separators to match the Asian cultural atmosphere all in the midst of the UAE. Can speak to cleanliness and washroom style.

The Food
It was all a blur as these beautiful Asian dishes kept coming out, one better than the other. Full of flavour and put together the delicacy and precision, the fare and vibe hear is perfect for a group or birthday celebration. With tons of sharable options, you can try a wide array of menu items. And trust me, you’re going to want to! I had the Tuna Tacos, a beautiful specialty sushi roll and the highlight dish they’re known for, Duck, Kimchi steamed bun. And then for dessert, I had the Yuzu Citrus Tart with Yuzu Sorbet. Not usually a citrus sweets kinda guy, but this thing was a tasty way to end the meal. All dishes were cooked to perfection on my visit.
The Drinks
The bartender was in a good mood and excited to show me a few fun cocktails. Bring em on, I say. We started of with a Japanese Negroni which is made with a very rare (and strong) Japanese Whisky. I don’t generally lean towards a Negroni, but the bartender’s excitement was quite compelling.
He took away some of the bitterness for me and it was quite refreshing and a wonderful way to kick off the night. The next cocktail was an homage to Toronto. Normally, the bartender would offer out a ‘Burj Khalifa’ tower, made up of his own fruitful concoction that represents the flavours of Dubai, but in this case he made me a ‘CN Tower’ medley instead in a tall, towering glass. What a great guy and you should definitely pay him a visit if you find yourself at Bā Restaurant & Lounge at Fairmont The Palm, Dubai.
The VIBE
I absolutely loved the VIBE at this Japanese modern contemporary fusion lounge. It was a Wednesday evening and the DJ was just getting started, creating a supper club feel and a more casual, relaxed environment. I thoroughly enjoyed the vibe here and will be back to try more of their simple, tasty dishes and well-crafted cocktails.
