There are tons of things to do in the city this weekend and, as the cold weather and winter set in, construction (maybe?) seems to be slowing down. However, the TTC service is affected by events, closures and repairs, leaving routes changed and disrupted pretty regularly. It’s always good to know about the delays and closures before you head out on your weekend plans, so read on to see which TTC routes are impacted and changed this weekend.
These are the TTC routes that are impacted this weekend:
Beginning on December 1st, the 504A King streetcar service will be restored heading west, past Bathurst Street to Dufferin Gate Loop. Watermain and track work at the King Street West and Shaw Street intersections are finally completed, allowing the normal TTC route to resume, and stops on Bathurst Street and Fleet Street will no longer be serviced. But, because of the ongoing Stage 3 construction at the King-Queen-Queensway-Roncesvalles (KQQR) intersection, a replacement bus will run on the 504C line and divert via Howard Park Avenue and Parkside Drive. The streetcar will continue to run every 10 minutes.
To accommodate the Etobicoke Santa Claus Parade on December 3, the 501L and the 110C Islington South TTC routes will experience diversions from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. On the Islington line, stops south of New Toronto Street will be closed, as the bus will divert to accommodate the parade. On the 501L line, stops on Lake Shore Boulevard West between Royal York Road and Brown’s Line will be temporarily closed in the same time frame.
From November 28 to December 2nd, the 504 King streetcar is experiencing a route change due to infrastructure repairs. Each night, from 12:01 am to 4 am, the streetcars will turn back eastbound via King Street East, Church Street, Richmond Street East, Victoria Street, Adelaide Street East and Church Street. 504C King replacement buses will run, and riders can transfer from the streetcars to the replacement buses on King Street East between Church Street and Jarvis Street.
