When it comes to eating oysters, it’s generally a hate it or love it situation. As an East Coaster, I fall into the love it category. Whenever I am at a restaurant with fresh PEI oysters, you know I just can’t resist. However, I’ve only every eaten oysters the classic way, and I think it’s time we all expand our shellfish horizons. Don’t know where to start? No problem! World Champion oyster shucker, Patrick McMurray – AKA Shucker Paddy – is hosting a Masterclass on Tuesday, June 8th thrown by The Social Shell.
The Oyster Masterclass
During this 60-minute Oyster Masterclass, Shucker Paddy will be sharing his passion and oyster expertise with participants as well as debunk some common shellfish myths. You can expect to learn how to shop and store oysters, and techniques for cooking and serving properly. You’ll also learn how to engage more than just your tastebuds, creating a multi-sensory experience.
This Masterclass is the first of it’s kind hosted by The Social Shell which aims to educate, and inspire Canadians to use PEI Oysters at home.
“We are thrilled to have Patrick McMurray host our first virtual masterclass on The Social Shell,” said Bryan Inglis, CEO Food Island Partnership. “Whether you’re new to eating oysters or are looking to perfect your shucking technique, you certainly won’t want to miss this event!
